Courses in Italian language for YUFE Students

Registration: for the courses March-June 2022: from 31 December 2021 to 7 February 2022 

CLICI organizes Courses in Italian Language and Culture for YUFE Students in the second semester of the Academic year 2021/22. The Courses will be provided remotely from mid-March to the end of May 2022. The final exams will be held by mid-June 2022.

The courses are free of charge for all international YUFE students who registered for the Diploma Supplement Track.

Four different language courses will be provided for YUFE students:

Italian as a foreign language A1.1

This is an introductory course for students who have never studied or learned Italian. The course aims at developing the 4 basic skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Lessons are highly interactive and students collaborate in pairs or groups with teachers and colleagues to carry out practical tasks and to enhance their communicative competence. Up to 4 YUFE students will be included in the course.

Italian as a foreign language A1.2

This is a course for students who have a very basic knowledge of the Italian language and have already reached the A1.1 level of proficiency. The course aims at developing the 4 basic skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Lessons are highly interactive and students collaborate in pairs or groups with teachers and colleagues to carry out practical tasks and to enhance their communicative competence. Up to 4 YUFE students will be included in the course.

Italian as a foreign language A2.1

This is a course for students who have already reached the A1.2 level of proficiency. The course aims at developing the 4 basic skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Lessons are highly interactive and students collaborate in pairs or groups with teachers and colleagues to carry out practical tasks and to enhance their communicative competence. Up to 4 YUFE students will be included in the course.

Italian as a foreign language A2.2

This is a course for students who have already reached the A1.2 level of proficiency. The course aims at developing the 4 basic skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Lessons are highly interactive and students collaborate in pairs or groups with teachers and colleagues to carry out practical tasks and to enhance their communicative competence. Up to 4 YUFE students will be included in the course.

Each course includes 40 hours of synchronous lessons (twice a week on Zoom) + 20 hours of asynchronous activities (provided on another e-learning platform) for a total of 60 hours.

Lessons will be held twice a week in the following time slots: 2.00-4.00 pm, 4.00-6.00 pm, 6.00-8.00 pm on weekdays; 10.00-12.00 am, 12.00 am-2.00 pm on Saturdays (CET). The exact schedule will be a week before the courses’ start.

Registration procedure

It is possible to register for the 2nd-semester courses from 31 December 2021 to 7 February 2022.

  • Students who are absolute beginners in the Italian language (and want to apply for the A1.1 course) are requested to register on CLICI’s platform without taking the placement test.

 

  • Students who passed CLICI’s Italian language exam on 13 or 14 January 2022 have to register on CLICI’s platform without taking the placement test. The will be asked to complete a registration form on the platform providing their personal information and, at the end of the procedure, they will have to select the option ““Ho superato l’esame finale di lingua italiana il 13/14 gennaio 2022 – I passed the Italian language final exam on 13/14 January 2022”  instead of a date for the placement test.

 

  • Students who are NOT beginners and who DIDN’T  take CLICI’s Italian language final exam in June 2021 are requested to:
  1. register on CLICI’s platform;
  2. choose a date to take an online interview for the speaking skills assessment:
  • 18 January (4.30 pm – CET)
  • 26 January (4.30 pm – CET)
  • 31 January (4.30 pm – CET)
  • 10 February (4.30 pm – CET)
  • 14 February (4.30 pm – CET)
  • 18 February (2.00 pm – CET)
  1. complete the online placement test that has to be taken remotely between 30 August and 24 September 2021 and in any case at least 2 days before the online interview. It will not be possible to take the interview if the placement test has not been completed by the deadline.

It is possible to book the online interview up to a week before the chosen date.

Students who attend 70% of the lessons in synchronous mode and 70% of the activities in asynchronous mode will be given a certificate of attendance and will be admitted to the final exam. If they pass the final test, they will receive a certificate with the final grade.

YUFE students are reminded that it is necessary to pass the final exam of the Italian language course if they want it to be recognized in the Diploma Supplement Track and for the awarding of the Language Star.
